Bajo Tierra Kitchen
A local fermentation business, Bajo Tierra Kitchen, wanted to redesign their labels for their two major products, Kimchi & Sauerkraut. Taking into consideration their competition, shelf appeal and their local small business flair, the resigned was a success! A label design was created for both products and allowed for growth of new products in the future. Custom illustrations, minimal line-drawing style were created to stand out from similar products on the shelves of Co Op and at Farmers Markets.
Bajo Tierra Kitchen uses locally-grown, organic ingredients, and was born out of a passion for preserving excess produce that would otherwise go to waste. Their small batch Kimchi uses the freshest ingredients available. They buy from organic distributors and support local farms.

What makes their Kimchi Sonoran Style? By using regional chile varieties such as chiltipins, and nardellos, plus cilantro creates a unique Sonoran desert flavor.

So simple and delicious, plus 35 days aging at a controlled temperature, produces an exceptionally delicious sauerkraut.
A third of the design was reserved for a personal story of the chefs and how the idea for their company started.
